Fran and Wally Good Reentry Scholarship

Fran taught English at the Metropolitan Community College for 25 years. She was the driving force behind the establishment of the child care center and the reentry center. In 1985, Fran and several Longview reentry alumnae began their quest for financial assistance for reentry students. From an initial goal of $5,000 that would create an endowed scholarship, the dream has grown to an endowment of nearly $26,000.

Wally Good taught biology at Southwest High School for over 20 years. He used all of his creativity and biological expertise as he and the business division designed a tropical solarium for the second floor balcony of the new business building. Wally and faculty volunteers spent afternoons and weekends building a waterfall and setting up the solarium with a wide variety of tropical plants.
